F1 Grand Prix Singapore Cancelled Amid Covid-19

F1 Grand Prix S’pore cancelled in 2020

Although there’s still around 3 months to go before the planned event date on 20 Sep, Singapore GP decided to go ahead with the cancellation, wrote CNA.

They faced logistical challenges in planning the street race, from lack of access and limitations on constructing the event’s venue to restrictions on crowds.

Normally, construction and preparation would’ve begun in May, but with the country battling Covid-19, plans were put on hold.

Certainty for ticket holders

Singapore GP added that cancelling the event would “give certainty” to those who had already purchased tickets, as well as commercial partners, reported CNA.

International travel is also an issue, with many tourists and participants usually involved in the event.

Automatic refunds for ticketholders

Existing ticketholders can choose to have an automatic refund within 30 working days,.

Alternatively, they may rollover their ticket to next year’s race, CNA reported according to Singapore GP’s press release.
