Finding ways to keep daily essentials for Singapore shoppers

FairPrice’s latest initiative is part of the group’s longstanding commitment to keep daily essentials within reach and return value to customers.

As food prices continue to increase, FairPrice continues to find ways to keep daily essentials affordable.

This includes freezing prices on all chilled pork and selected seafood and vegetables during Chinese New Year this year.

Even amidst the Middle East conflict from Apr to Aug, FairPrice Group froze prices on more than 500 essentials.

NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng said: “Workers and their families continue to feel the pressures of rising costs, and what matters is practical support that makes a difference to their daily lives.”

“FairPrice Group’s commitment to lower and hold prices on everyday staples such as chicken and eggs will help ease the load at the dinner table.”

Support better nutrition in community

Beyond the supermarkets, FairPrice’s commitment expands to communities with its philanthropic arm, FairPrice Foundation (FPF).

Through the FPF’s Protein Pledge, the Foundation has committed to providing S$1 million worth of fresh protein to vulnerable communities by 2030, with fresh eggs forming a core part of its distributions.

More recently, FPF has piloted its Stay Strong programme for seniors, developed in partnership with Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

The programme aims to strengthen seniors’ nutrition knowledge and access to nutritious essentials.
