Looking for haze-free air? S’porean collects ‘fresh Canadian air’ & sells it for S$20 a bag

Singaporean collects and sells ‘fresh Canadian air’ for S$20 a bag, claiming it to be ‘haze-free’

As the haze persists through October, many in Singapore are wondering when the air will clear up.

For those desperately seeking relief, a TikTok user may have just uncovered the ideal product.

Currently based in Canada, the Original Poster (OP) @warrenmode is collecting and selling bags of “fresh Canadian air” to Singaporeans seeking some fresh air, at a price of S$20 per bag.

“I’m going to bring it back to Singapore,” he says. “I’m going to sell one of these for S$20.”

He goes on to claim that the air inside the bag is “clean”, “crisp” and “haze-free”.

In an exclusive with MS News, @warrenmode shared that he went on a holiday to Canada with his mother at the end of September, just as the haze was coming.

Not the first person to ‘sell’ air

When asked how he got the idea, the OP said that it came from a similar incident a few years ago.

In 2013, air pollution in Shanghai reached such hazardous levels that wealthy Chinese entrepreneur Chen Guangbiao began selling canned fresh air.

Netizens ask if they can use CDC for discount

During his holiday in Canada, air quality is no issue at all.

“The air in Canada is legitimately fresh and clean. The skies are clear, everywhere is surrounded by nature. Even a small random park there truly is beautiful,” he said.

In the comments section, netizens queried about OP’s product.

Many asked whether they could get a discount, offering various promotions and savings ideas.

Others asked for different flavours and scents.

A few said that they might actually buy it because of the haze.

One netizen even compared @warrenmode to Aloysius O’Hare, the villain in the Dr Seuss movie ‘The Lorax’.

One TikTok user cheekily described having an unsatisfactory experience after their unfortunate situation with the product.

In response to the overwhelming comments, the OP said: “Got a few who say they will buy. I think some will actually be serious, but it’s a joke for me.”
