Police tracked down Singaporean after tip-off

In late January, police received a tip-off that a Singaporean man, who uses crystal meth, was being violent towards women and confining them against their will.

A woman claiming to be one of his victims told authorities that Joel was regularly violent and verbally abusive towards her.

More alarmingly, he had also once threatened to poison the condominium’s water tank.

Further investigation revealed evidence of Joel’s purchases on the dark web, which consisted of a large quantity of high toxic substances.

When police arrested him at his residence, they seized three grams of crystal meth, explosives-related chemicals, records showing he had purchased 20 grams of a highly potent toxic substance, and more.

Man told Thai authorities that he fled from Singapore

During questioning, the Singaporean admitted to being a fugitive from his home country.

He fled from Singapore in 2024 to avoid drug-related charges that would return him to prison.

He also said that the drugs he had purchased were not meant to poison the condo’s water tank, but instead for personal use.

Joel has been charged with drug possession and overstaying his visit in Thailand.

Thus far, police have found no evidence connecting him to terrorism. The case is still under investigation.
