GetGo is investigating after one of its cars caught fire along the Lornie Highway on Tuesday (25 Aug) afternoon.
Footage of the incident posted on XiaoHongShu showed the vehicle’s bonnet engulfed in flames.

The original poster (OP) said they caught sight of the blaze next to MacRitchie Reservoir.
The clip showed that the burning car had stopped in the road shoulder on the left, with no other vehicles or people nearby.
The inferno produced thick black smoke.

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the fire at about 12 noon on 25 Aug.
It involved the engine compartment of a car along Lornie Highway.
SCDF extinguished the blaze with a hosereel, with no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
GetGo told AsiaOne that it activated a team to provide support after it was alerted to the fire.
The car-sharing service is taking the incident “very seriously” and is investigating it thoroughly to understand what could have caused it.
It is providing support to the user and will continue doing so, the spokesperson added.
This is the second GetGo car reported to have gone up in flames in close to 1.5 months.
In May last year, a GetGo car was seen on fire along Upper Changi Road East, though no injuries were reported.

The car was being driven by authorised workshop personnel and could not be ordered on its app, the company told The Straits Times.
