Two young Golden Retrievers have been rescued after they were allegedly left on an exposed rooftop in Chon Buri, Thailand, for more than a month.
The dogs, believed to be around seven to eight months old, were reportedly kept outdoors around the clock without proper shelter from the sun and rain.
The incident came to light after a landlady in the Jomtien area posted an appeal for help on social media on Sunday (25 Oct).
According to the post, a tenant living in one of her units owned the two dogs but was allegedly “unable and unwilling to care for them”.

Therefore, they kept the Golden Retrievers on the rooftop throughout the day and night.
The landlady also claimed there was no roof or other covering to protect them from harsh weather.
Additionally, the dogs were allegedly not taken out for walks or toilet breaks, leaving them to relieve themselves in the same area where they were kept.
The landlady said she was concerned about the dogs’ welfare but was unable to adopt them herself.
She therefore appealed to animal welfare groups to help find new homes for the pair, Tnews reported.
The landlady also said the dogs’ owner was willing to rehome them.
The incident has drawn criticism online, with many commenters stressing that pet ownership requires long-term responsibility and proper living conditions.
On Sunday evening, a rescuer arranged to have the Golden Retrievers taken from the rooftop and brought to a veterinary hospital.

They have since renamed the dogs Nong Thale and Nong Pla Wan (transliterated from Thai).
Nong Pla Wan was found to have a blood parasite and a slightly low platelet count. Meanwhile, Nong Thale had high levels of certain white blood cells, indicating a risk of contracting a blood parasite infection.
The dogs are undergoing medication for their conditions.

They have also been moved to a temporary foster environment while rescuers assess their condition and look for suitable permanent homes.
