Good Pet Fair at The Kallang has a movie screening, Sheltie record attempt, pony meet-and-greet & more

Good Pet Fair has animal encounters, workshops, and a pet-friendly movie from 22 to 23 Aug

Finding a weekend activity that keeps everyone happy can already be a challenge. Throw a four-legged family member into the mix, and your options can get even slimmer.

Thankfully, Good Pet Fair – Kampong Edition is taking over the Great Eastern Promenade at The Kallang on 22 and 23 Aug, with two full days of activities for pets, pawrents, and anyone who simply gets excited at the sight of cute animals.

The pet-friendly fair runs from 10am to 8pm on both days, with everything from animal encounters and hands-on workshops to an outdoor movie screening, giving guests of all ages plenty of fun ways to learn more about animals.

Meet all kinds of animals and enjoy nostalgic kampong activities

Animal lovers will have plenty to keep them occupied, starting with a Singapore Book of Records attempt on 23 Aug.

Shetland Sheepdog owners are invited to gather at Gate 6 from 4pm to 5pm in an attempt to set a new national record for the largest Sheltie gathering.

There are plenty of other creatures to meet, too. At the Critter Zone, visitors can learn more about springtails and insects through interactive exhibits and live demonstrations, while WholeSnail will bring along a special Snail Farm showcase on Sunday.

Over at the Feather Zone, colourful parrots take centre stage, with opportunities to interact with them and snap photos, as well as free-flying demonstrations around The Kallang.

Fish fans aren’t left out either. The Aquatic Zone spotlights ornamental fish, including Molly fish, alongside a Fish Competition featuring Merdeka and Guppy entries competing before a panel of judges.

If your family’s definition of cute leans a little larger, head to Gate 18 on 22 Aug from 11am to 3pm. Ponies from Gallop Stables will be there for a meet-and-greet complete with feeding sessions and hands-on activities.

Once evening rolls around, you can settle down with your furry companion for a pet-friendly outdoor movie screening near Gate 2 from 7.30pm.

Join workshops and explore The Kallang with your pet

Beyond spending time with your fur babies or admiring other people’s pets, there are also several ways to get hands-on over the weekend.

Royal Animal Rescue will be conducting a free Pet CPR Workshop, while creative pet parents can sign up for paid Clay Pet Portrait and Pet Illustration workshops.

You and your pet can also stretch your legs on Paws Around The Kallang, a free guided tour around the precinct.

Tours take place from Gate 3 between 4pm and 7pm, and you’ll need to download The Kallang App and register beforehand.

Shop for treats and spoil your fur babies

Of course, no pet fair would be complete without a chance to treat your furry, scaled, or feathered companion.

Good Pet Fair brings together pet-focused brands across categories such as food and treats, accessories, lifestyle products, and other pet essentials, so there’ll be plenty to browse between activities.

You can also find animal welfare groups to support at the event, so you can spread your love for animals beyond the ones in your own home.

There’ll also be pet-themed paraphernalia for besotted hoomans, along with food vendors for when you get famished after an adventure-filled day with your loved ones.

And while your pet gets treats, there’s something for the humans, too.

Register as a The Kallang Kaki member via The Kallang App to redeem a free ice cream at Great Eastern Promenade, Gate 6. Onsite check-in runs from 10am to 2pm, with limited redemptions available each day.

If you’re worried about commuting with your pet to the venue, the event also has you covered with 15% off GrabPet rides to and from The Kallang, capped at S$3, when you use the promo code <GOODPETFAIR>.
