GrabFood delivery riders don’t deliver food; they also deliver peace.
In a video uploaded to Facebook on Saturday (17 Aug), a GrabFood rider got off his bike and attempted to mediate a conflict between a man and two younger boys.
The video has since been shared over 8,000 times.
The man in a black T-shirt is first seen in a standoff with two younger boys. One of the boys appears to have lost a slipper, while the other hangs loosely from his foot. Hopefully, he got that repaired eventually.
Boy 1 (in black T-shirt) went first with a casual jab at the man, while boy 2 (in white T-shirt) got into stance.
The man wobbled from the abrupt attack and fell to the ground. Boy 2 quickly seized the upperhand and attempted a kick. Just when everything went from Shaolin Showdown to a little dangerous, the GrabFood rider stepped in.
The valiant rider, despite knowing that he was losing time which he could otherwise devote to his business, held back boy 1 as he seemingly hungered to continue the brawl.
The video got kinda messy with the fighters re-positioning themselves in the arena. During that time, the lady who was with the boys initially went to talk to the man. With his hands held firmly in hers, she said something to the effect of: “I know it’s their fault, but…”
Peace wasn’t an option for boy 2, so he swung in and kicked the man out of the video frame.
Even after the man had left, boy 1 continued taunting him with very rude and hostile gestures.
If it weren’t for the GrabFood rider, the lady and the man in army green T-shirt, the fight could’ve been worse. Someone could have gotten hurt real bad.
The person seems to have started filming in the middle of the fight, so no one – other than the people involved – really knows what triggered them.
But seriously, don’t start fights. You’ll save your ego, but that won’t save you from potential jail time.
