Kallang, Tengah & Woodlands BTO Flats Are Perfect For Couples Who Love Each Other 3000

Kallang/Whampoa, Woodlands & Tengah Part Of May 2019 BTO Launch

The previous BTO launch in Feb 2019 was a ‘box office hit’. Applications exceeded the supply of flats by a whooping 3.7 times.

Those in the fairly central Kallang/Whampoa saw about 7,000 applicants vying for the prized 855 units.

Fortunately for those who missed their chance, the May 2019 BTO launch is bringing Kallang/Whampoa back with an additional 580 units. Along with these, 2,180 units in Tengah and 720 units in Woodlands.

The prices have not been released by HDB yet, so we’ll have to make estimates using numbers from previous BTO launches.

Kallang/Whampoa — a prime location

Source

The latest Kallang/Whampoa BTO flats will be located a stone’s throw away from Boon Keng station.

Not only are there plenty of good food at Bendemeer Market & Food Centre, you’ll also be staying a 10-minute train ride away from Dhoby Ghaut.

Chances are, because of the prime location, these flats will be just as popular among applicants as those in the previous round.

What we like: Located next to Boon Keng MRT with tons of hawker food options nearby.

What we don’t like: Pricey compared to other estates.

Flats available*:

  • 2-room Flexi — (no historic data)
  • 3-room — $374,000
  • 4-room — $523,000

*Prices are estimates based on previous launches.

Woodlands — a more peaceful abode

Source

The upcoming Woodlands flats will be right next to Woodlands South MRT station, set to open on the Thomson-East Coast Line near at the end of 2019.

People complain about there being nothing in the north. That’s not entirely true. Causeway Point sits a short bus ride away at the town centre. There’s also SAM@Vista Point to pick up any last-minute grocery items.

Nevertheless, if you like places away from the noise and the bustle, these flats will be perfect for you.

What we like: Affordable and relatively peaceful.

What we don’t like: Not a lot of shopping/entertainment options nearby.

Flats available*:

  • 2-room Flexi — (no data)
  • 3-room — $165,000
  • 4-room — $251,000
  • 5-room — $327,000

*Prices are estimates based on Sembawang BTO launch in 2018.

Tengah — a home for nature-lovers

Source

Tengah may sound like it’s in the deserted outskirts of Singapore, but in fact, lots of development has been going on in the area. Particularly, the planned “Forest Town” — a 5.1km-wide stretch of verdure.

HDB also announced plans to turn the whole estate into a very green and communal one.

Source

But the developments won’t be completed so soon. It will probably be about 20 or so years before we see the gorgeous Tengah illustrated in the picture above.

What we like: Lots of beautiful greenery coming its way.

What we don’t like: Still pretty far from the city centre.

Flats available*:

  • 2-room Flexi — $101,000
  • 3-room — $193,000
  • 4-room — $290,000
  • 5-room — $397,000

*Prices are estimates based on previous launches.

Round 2 to get book your flat

If you missed the popular flats in these areas the last time, now’s your chance to spin the housing wheel again.

According to HDB’s website, applications for these new flats have not yet opened. So if you have eyes on any of them, keep a look out on their website, or even better, get them to send you SMS alerts.

All the best securing a flat.
