Hillion Mall & Bukit Panjang Plaza Visited By Covid-19 Patient On 24 May

The Ministry of Health (MOH) listed on Wednesday (27 May) 3 additional heartland locations where Covid-19 patients had visited during their infections period.

These locations are:

  • Jurong West 505 Market and Food Centre: 17 May (Sun) 9-930am, 25 May (Mon) 11am-12pm
  • Bukit Panjang Plaza FairPrice Finest: 24 May (Sun) 12-1230pm
  • Hillion Mall NTUC FairPrice: 24 May (Sun) 1230-1pm

Hillion Mall and Bukit Panjang Plaza supermarkets visited by Covid-19 patients

According to MOH, an unspecified number of Covid-19 patients had visited supermarkets at Hillion Mall and Bukit Panjang Plaza. The 2 shopping centres are within walking distance of each other.

What’s also of concern is the fact that the visits happened between 12-1pm on a Sunday — peak hours when many shoppers would visit the supermarket for their groceries.

The Jurong West 505 Market and Food Centre was also visited by patients infected with the coronavirus on 2 occasions — 17 and 25 May.

The earlier visit occurred on a Sunday morning between 9-930am while the later visit occurred on a Monday during the lunch period from 11am-12pm.

MOH reveals 8 places in total visited by Covid-19 patients

The new places identified by MOH are in addition to 4 previously announced places:

 
  • NTUC FairPrice: 20 May (Wed) 4.30-6.00pm
  • Jurong Point: 21 May (Thu), 5.30-6.30pm
  • Shokutsu Ten Japanese Food Street: 21 May (Thu), 5.45-6.15pm
  • FairPrice Xtra: 24 May (Sun), 1-2pm

While close contacts of the patients have already been informed, MOH urged those who have visited these places during the specified timings to take note of their health.

In particular, those who display symptoms of acute respiratory infection should see a doctor immediately and inform them of their “exposure history”.

Symptoms to look out for include:

  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny nose
  • Fever
  • Loss of taste/smell
