Vaccinations are vital in safeguarding us against many illnesses.
And our very own Prime Minister (PM) Lee Hsien Loong and his wife knows that just as well.
PM Lee and his wife, Ho Ching, recently went for a follow-up vaccine jab, as Mdm Ho shared in a Facebook post on Thursday (28 Feb).
She then goes on to share a list of immunisation jabs that Singaporeans can use MediSave to pay for.

According to the post, Mdm Ho and PM Lee went for a follow-up pneumococcal jab which safeguards against pneumonia caused by the strep bacteria, as well as other deadly diseases.
The jab is recommended for adults over 65 years old, as well as younger folks aged 18 and above with medical conditions like diabetes, or chronic conditions in the lung, heart, kidney and liver.
This group of patients have weaker immunity systems and are more susceptible to pneumococcal disease.
Mdm Ho then shared how Singaporeans can use their MediSave accounts to pay for a range of vaccinations jabs, under the National Adult Immunisation Schedule (NAIS).
The NAIS aims to guide people aged 18 years and above on the vaccinations they should undergo to defend themselves from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Vaccinations in the list cater to different groups of people.
Mdm Ho urged pregnant women to get a jab against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis — diseases that affect newborns.
That said, this vaccination can only be done once per pregnancy.
Young females can also take a human papillomavirus (HPV) jab to prevent cervical cancer-related HPVs.
Grown-ups who didn’t take the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccines as a child can also have themselves vaccinated using their MediSave funds.
Vaccinations are not only helpful for us, but are also beneficial for everyone in our community as well.
This is because vaccines help us fend off preventable diseases which may otherwise cause other health complications.
