While many Singaporeans felt anxious on Friday (7 Feb) after Singapore is now on DORSCON Orange alert, one lucky person must’ve felt pretty blessed.
As the 2020 iteration of the Hong Bao TOTO draw took place at 9.30pm the same day, one person became the new owner of $12 million after winning the Group 1 prize.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, the winning ticket was bought at the NTUC FairPrice outlet at Bukit Batok MRT.
Only one person struck 6 numbers in this Hong Bao draw, which won them the Group 1 prize.
Now here’s where things become even more interesting.
According to Singapore Pools’ data, the winning ticket was a quick pick Ordinary Bet. This means the winner struck the jackpot with just 6 numbers and could have put in a bet of just $1.
Meanwhile, 20 other individuals won the Group 2 prize, each bringing home a prize money of $101,649.
Here are the winning numbers, in case you haven’t checked your TOTO tickets.
The $12 million jackpot is reportedly the 5th largest TOTO jackpot pool since Oct 2014.
Our hearty congratulations to the lucky winner for winning the jackpot.
Amidst all the best news regarding the coronavirus, at least they can use the money to treat family and friends to a good meal, which would do wonders in boosting morale during such trying times.
