Singaporean director Jack Neo suffered a medical mishap in Japan when he cut his finger with a razor, with the wound bleeding persistently.
At a local hospital, he was surprised when the doctor merely gave him a plaster and told him to keep his hand raised.
Mr Neo posted about his experience on Instagram on 19 Oct.
The famed ‘Ah Boys to Men’ director explained that at 7.30am, he cut his hand with a razor blade.

“It was a small wound, but the bleeding would not stop,” Mr Neo said.
He called it frightening, and said that blood got everywhere.
Mr Neo claimed that he bled for three hours before managing to see a doctor at the Kuroki Memorial Hospital.
The doctor, however, had a treatment method which he remarked “you cannot imagine”.

They stuck a plaster on Mr Neo’s injured middle finger, and told him to press on the wound while keeping his hand raised for five minutes.
He showed himself keeping his right hand up, although some mirrored footage made it look like his left.

“I’m not kidding, the doctor came out just now to check if I was doing it right,” he laughed.
Sure enough, however, Mr Neo said the bleeding had improved after trying the method.
“But keeping my hand raised like this is…it’s quite sore,” he added.

Mr Neo’s wife, Irene Kng, settled the hospital bill alongside their tour guide. His medical fees totalled to roughly S$30.

“Just for telling me to use this method,” Mr Neo chuckled while raising his arm.
“For five minutes!” The tour guide chimed in.
