Sengkang Group Representation Constituency (GRC) MP Jamus Lim has taken to Instagram on Monday morning (12 Oct) to share about his hospitalisation.
He addressed his residents from Anchorvale in the post, referencing his persistent sniffling as seen in Parliament on 6 Oct.
PAP MP Diana Pang of Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC was also seen handing him a tissue as his nose visibly ran in the parliamentary video.

In the post, Lim explained that the sniffling “developed into a bad case of Influenza A, before culminating in full-blown pneumonia.”
He added that he “initially only intended to take only the remainder of the week off”. However, due to his blood oxygen levels falling to the low 90s, he had to be checked into hospital.
He also explained that the blood oxygen level (SpO2) for healthy adults and children typically ranges from 95% to 100%.
Lim had at first attributed his sniffling to the current weather conditions.
As heard in the Parliament video, he apologised to Speaker Seah Kian Peng that “this (the sniffling) is the haze ah.”
While Lim will be unable to attend to his usual duties during his hospitalisation, he promised that he will “do what [he] can on the back end to clear all appeal letters and to catch up on [his] email backlog”.
Meanwhile, Team Sengkang volunteers will help to conduct meet-the-people sessions in his stead.
“I thank you for your patience in the meantime,” he said at the end of the post.
The post has since caught the attention of netizens, with many of them expressing concern for the Sengkang MP.
A netizen urged Lim to take care and to take “some time to recuperate”.

The Communicable Diseases Agency Singapore (CDA) also recently put out an advisory on Influenza A on 1 Sept.
Better known as H1N1, the CDA noted that “the positivity rate for influenza among influenza-like illness like samples in the community has increased to 36.6% in the week of 16 to 22 Aug”.
CDA also urged individuals with mild acute respiratory infections symptoms to stay at home, and to exercise social responsibility by minimising social interactions and wearing a mask.
