Endless applications and rejections can wear anyone’s mental fortitude down. But sometimes one can stumble upon what appears to be the perfect job — one that requires relatively fewer qualifications, yet pays well.
TikTok user @nagulanmusical came across a job advert from an auto insurance company on Indeed Malaysia.
The job description? Being a ‘TikTok dancer’.
Because the job ad has been taken down, we can’t find out exactly what being a TikTok dancer entails.
But for up to RM10,000 (S$2,932) a month, many are having second thoughts about the education qualification they worked so hard for.
@nagulanmusical posted the video of the job ad on Tuesday (30 May), set to a parody of the song ‘My Heart Will Go On’ by Celine Dion.

While the video doesn’t show the job description, the words “TikTok Dancer” and “RM2,000 – RM10,000 a month” tells its own story.
It also has the tag ‘Rotational shift’.
The ad was seemingly posted by Bjak Sdn Bhd, an auto insurance company based in Petaling Jaya in Malaysia.
It provides financial services and insurance for motor vehicles like cars and motorbikes.
While the job may appear dubious to some, there were people in the comments who actually admitted to applying for the position.

Others were clearly reconsidering their life choices, especially those who’ve attained higher educational qualifications like a PhD.

Meanwhile, there were those who wished their Asian parents could see the job listing, perhaps to debunk their traditional perceptions of high-paying jobs requiring specific education levels.

Checks by MS News on 31 May indicate that the ad is no longer on Indeed Malaysia.
Perhaps they’ve already hired someone for the job. Certainly, such a role would attract many applications.
While you might be sobbing into your degree or PhD after reading the ad, have heart.
You might still find a job that’s right for you. A job that pays well isn’t always the best job.
But if you have an affinity for TikTok dances, maybe you can apply next time if the ad pops up again.
