The Mannequin Challenge? Please, that’s so 2016.
New year, new viral sensation. And that’s the #KiKiChallenge, also known as, the In My Feelings Challenge. And boy, does it need more effort than just standing still.
Taking the Internet by storm, the craze sees individuals dancing alongside a moving car to Drake’s hit single In My Feelings.
And it’s officially in Singapore.
On Thursday (2 Aug), netizen Thomas Blysk Kopankiewicz shared his version of the #KiKiChallenge on Facebook; but with a twist.
Instead of dancing alongside a moving car, the video shows him dancing along a moving MRT train at Clarke Quay station.
The viral dance was spawned when widely-followed comedian Shiggy uploaded a video on Instagram of him dancing along to In My Feelings.
That post sparked the #KiKiChallenge, which saw thousands of social media users uploading videos of them dancing along to In My Feelings.
Even Hollywood celebrities Ciara and Will Smith had a go at it.
The hashtag has already amassed over 400,000 posts on Instagram.
But it’s not all fun and games. It can look pretty slick when done safely and correctly. But when things go wrong, the #KiKiChallenge can be dangerous to public safety.
Even the Mumbai Police had to step in, encouraging users to use the hashtag #InMySafetyFeelingsChallenge instead.
And in case Thomas gave you any ideas: please don’t do the dance on a crowded train platform. The rest of Singapore thanks you.
