Responding to MS News’ queries, a Love, Bonito spokesperson informed that the malicious code in question has affected a “small number” of their customers.

The relevant authorities have been notified, and we are working closely with them and our security vendors to investigate and resolve this matter.

She said the case is currently still under investigation, and no further details can be provided for now.

Additionally, they have reported the matter to the Personal Data Protection Commission and Singapore Police Force, and will work to assist their investigations.

Remedial steps for customers affected by the breach

The spokesperson told MS News that customers affected by the data breach are advised to look out for any unauthorised charges made to their payment card or personal accounts.

Should there be any dubious charges, customers are advised to report it to their respective banks ASAP.

They should also ensure that the 2FA system is in place for their credit cards.

If unsure, customers should also notify their banks and request for a replacement for their credit cards.
