The Lucky Plaza accident on 29 Dec sent shocked Singaporeans greatly, especially when it was revealed that 2 victims passed away due to their injuries.
Harrowing CCTV footage showed the car had crashed into the victims suddenly.
2 victims have since been discharged. The 2 other victims are still receiving treatment for their injuries at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), shared Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Manpower Ms Low Yen Ling.
A fundraiser has been created to raise funds to support the Lucky Plaza accident victims.
Demet Limbauan Limbauan and Laila Flores Laudenciam, aged 37 and 44 respectively, were discharged in the evening on 30 Dec.
The remaining two victims Egnal Layugan Limbauan, 43, and Arceli Picar Nucos, 56, are still receiving treatment, reports TODAY Online.
A relative of Ms Arceli shared with The New Paper that she regained consciousness and could recognise faces. However, she could not eat or drink.
Ms Low and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan visited the victims at TTSH in the afternoon on 30 Dec.
They wanted to “personally show [their] care and support” for the victims.
In the wake of the accident, the Centre for Domestic Employees (CDE) has started a fundraiser to support the victims of the Lucky Plaza accident.
Ms Low added that the Ministry of Manpower is “working closely with CSW to assist the families of all the victims”.

Many netizens have asked why the victims were not sent to Mount Elizabeth Hospital since it was only 300m away from Lucky Plaza.
Dr Noel Yep, chief executive officer of the hospital, has explained that this is because the hospital is not set up to manage “severe traumatic conditions, which include multiple trauma and extensive burns”.
Furthermore, it is not on the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s list of medical providers. As such, the hospital wasn’t activated. Thus, victims were sent to TTSH, which has a trauma centre.
The Domestic Employees Welfare Fund is appealing to the “kind generosity” of members of the public. By donating, you will help the families of the 2 victims who passed away, and those who are injured.

The 44-year-old van driver was arrested for traffic-related offences.
The victim is yet to be found.
