Yet another man in Hong Kong has been arrested for allegedly splashing an unknown liquid onto a woman in a public train, following a similar case earlier this year.
Police apprehended the 59-year-old suspect on Tuesday (8 Sept) after reviewing security camera footage from the carriage.
According to Hong Kong Free Press (HKFP), a 20-year-old female student alerted Tai Wo station staff and called the police regarding the incident on Monday (7 Sept) evening.
She suspected that a passenger had touched her, and found an unknown clear white liquid on her clothes.
Authorities then reviewed the CCTV footage and identified the suspect as a 59-year-old local man surnamed Luk.

So far, investigations indicate that the man had acted on his own and did not know the woman he had harassed.
The police arrested Luk in Tai Po on suspicion of indecent assault.
The district’s crime unit is currently investigating the case.
Following the incident, Hong Kong police urged people to step forward and report such activities to curb their occurrence.
Unfortunately, this was not the first time a man had reportedly splashed a woman with liquid in public in Hong Kong in the past year.
In February, a man was arrested for harassing three women near a train station. He did this in three separate incidents, between Christmas 2025 and the Lunar New Year holiday this year.
All three victims reported that they had felt liquid being dripped onto their hair, HKFP reported.
