A 73-year-old man was arrested in Taiwan after allegedly throwing his own faeces at the Taipei District Court on Tuesday (27 Oct).
At around 6am, the man surnamed Chen allegedly splashed waste at the court’s signboard before throwing the bucket into the building’s lobby.
According to LTN, the police believe that Chen had premeditated the incident.
He reportedly bought two clear plastic containers from a hardware store and began collecting his own bodily waste in early October.
On Tuesday morning, he drove from his home in Wenshan District to the courthouse, then parked outside before carrying the containers to the building entrance.

Chen then threw the waste at the court’s signboard and into the lobby.
Netizens who claimed they went to the court later that day said the waste had been cleaned, but a strong smell lingered in the area.

Police investigations revealed that Chen’s grievances stemmed from a dispute involving a company owned by his relatives, FTV News reported.
He had invested in the business but discovered 15 years later that his name had been removed from its shareholder registry.
Chen was subsequently accused of extortion, but the case was eventually dismissed.
Still unhappy over the dispute, the elderly man staged protests outside his relatives’ home, carrying flags and banners.
This led to an aggravated defamation case against him, in which he was convicted and sentenced.
The series of legal disputes is believed to have left Chen deeply dissatisfied with the judicial system.

Officers from the Zhongzheng First Precinct arrived at the courthouse shortly after the incident and arrested Chen at the scene.

Police have also notified the Department of Environmental Protection to impose fines on Chen under the Waste Disposal Act.
Authorities reminded the public to express their legal grievances through lawful channels rather than resorting to disruptive or illegal acts.
