The Redditor also questioned whether the growing number of articles and social media posts about millennials leaving corporate careers reflected a wider trend among Singaporeans.

They pointed to options such as the Barista FIRE movement, working part-time or taking on less stressful jobs as examples of alternative lifestyles.

“Are most millennials in Singapore actually burnt out and trying to escape the corporate rat race?” the OP asked.

The post has since attracted more than 160 upvotes, with numerous comments from netizens sharing their experiences and perspectives.

One netizen claiming to be a Gen Z shared that they were getting tired of “performative work” and struggling with their mental health.
