Every September, Apple has the tech-watching world in a chokehold as it unveils its latest lineup of iPhones, and this year’s big reveal brought some pretty eye-catching new toys.
Alongside the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, the tech giant unveiled the iPhone Duo, its first foldable device.

Of course, shiny new gadgets rarely come cheap, but there’s at least one way to make the switch sting less.
Instead of letting your old phone gather dust in a drawer, you could put it towards the cost of your next one with Mister Mobile, which lets you trade in your current device while also offering new iPhone purchases, cash buybacks, and phone repairs.
For those who prefer the familiar slab-style mobiles, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max bring several sizeable upgrades, such as Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, improved thermal performance, enhanced camera capabilities, new Apple Intelligence features, and four sleek finishes, including a striking new burgundy.

But the new kid on the block that everyone’s talking about is easily the iPhone Duo.
Closed, it has a 5.4-inch outer display that works like a regular phone. Open it up, though, and you get a much roomier 7.6-inch inner screen, with Split View letting you run two apps side by side.

That extra space makes multitasking much easier, while the folding design also enables handy camera tricks like propping the phone up for hands-free shots and using the rear cameras for selfies with a live preview on the outer display.
If all that has you tempted to make the jump, the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Duo are now available for pre-order through Mister Mobile, with stocks expected to arrive on 18 Sept.
Better yet, you can put an old phone towards the purchase, which could make that upgrade a little easier on your pocket.

Start by checking Mister Mobile’s online Trade-In Calculator, which gives you an estimated value based on your device. From there, you can book an outlet and time slot, then bring the phone in for a physical assessment before the final offer is confirmed.
That value can go towards your next phone if you’re trading it in as part of an upgrade. Alternatively, if you simply want to sell the device outright, Mister Mobile also offers buybacks paid via PayNow.
It may also pay to act sooner rather than later since older phones typically lose value when a new generation arrives, as attention and demand shift towards the latest models.
Condition matters, too, so a phone that has spent its life protected by a case and screen protector could fare better during valuation.
And if you’re the sort who keeps every box and cable, your hoarding habits may finally come in handy, because including the original packaging and accessories can potentially improve the offer.

You’re not limited to Apple devices, by the way. Mister Mobile also accepts phones from brands including Samsung, Google Pixel, Oppo, Xiaomi, and more.
Trading in an old phone isn’t the only way to get some money back from your mobile situation.
Say you’ve just renewed your telco contract and received a new iPhone, but your existing device is still perfectly fine. Rather than keeping an extra handset around, you can sell the telco-purchased phone to Mister Mobile instead.
These devices are generally eligible for buyback as long as they are unlocked, aren’t still being financed, and come with valid proof of purchase.

On the other hand, you don’t necessarily have to upgrade at all.
If your existing phone is still doing everything you need and only has a tired battery, cracked screen, or some other fixable issue, Mister Mobile’s repair services offer another way to stretch its lifespan instead of replacing it outright.
Original batteries are available for most supported brands, with battery replacements taking around 1.5 hours, helping get your phone feeling almost like new again while keeping one more device out of the e-waste pile.

If you want a newer phone without paying full price, Mister Mobile’s refurbished devices are worth a look, with each going through a 100-step inspection. Each also comes with a seven-day return period and 30-day warranty for added peace of mind.
For devices that really have reached the end of their usable life, Mister Mobile also supports proper e-waste disposal through Singapore’s ALBA-operated recycling system rather than having them end up in general waste.
Beyond helping you get more value out of your devices, Mister Mobile also believes in keeping phones in use for longer, whether that means repairing them, reselling them, or recycling them responsibly once they are truly past saving. That sustainability focus is also reflected in its ISO 14001 environmental management certification.
That same emphasis on responsible handling extends to your data, too. Staff are trained on PDPA requirements and sign formal agreements on handling customers’ personal information, while devices sent for recycling through ALBA undergo secure data sanitisation by licensed handlers.
So whether you’re set on the latest gadgets, have an unwanted recontract set sitting around, or simply want to squeeze a few more years out of your current phone, there are plenty of ways to make your next move a little friendlier on both your wallet and the planet.
