At 8.30am, residents of the two blocks picked up tools and began cleaning up their blocks.
They were joined by STRIDY facilitators, Workers’ Party (WP) volunteers, and MP Fadli Fawzi.
People of all ages scoured the void decks and surrounding grass patches, picking up any trash they could find.

The residents and Mr Fadli also swept their blocks’ corridors and stairwells, extending greetings to neighbours.
“It was heartening to meet other residents who came out to greet us and showed us that they have done their part around their units,” the Aljunied GRC Facebook page wrote.
