Neighbours allegedly trespass on Woodlands home undergoing renovation

A property agent has taken to social media to question whether entering someone’s home while it is undergoing renovation has become the norm.

This was allegedly after she caught several neighbours entering the Woodlands property of someone she knew without permission.

In a TikTok post uploaded by @qidahfuad on Thursday (3 Sept), video footage appeared to show two separate incidents involving people entering the home, which was undergoing renovation at the time.

The Original Poster (OP) asked in the caption: “Is entering someone’s house during renovation a norm now? Isn’t this trespassing?”

At the start of the video, two women and a man could be seen wandering about in the unit, with some workers in the background.

The man then proceeds to snap photos of the unit with his handphone. According to the text overlay, they noticed the camera in the home but ignored it.

In another scene, a woman could be seen taking pictures of the house by herself before being joined by another man.

She then enters the kitchen and the rooms, leaving the man behind. She later walked back out to join him while pointing at the ceiling.

Workers had told the visitors off

The OP said the incidents happened on two different occasions. She also could not tell whether the people involved were the same individuals.

According to the OP, renovation workers had also told the individuals off, but they allegedly “refused to listen” and continued with what they were doing.

She expressed concern over what would happen if belongings went missing, or if someone got hurt while inside the house.

“Just because you are so kpo,” the OP said, using the colloquial Singaporean term for being overly nosy or curious.

She also took the opportunity to warn curious neighbours who might consider doing the same.

“This shouldn’t be a norm. You should NEVER enter someone’s house without permission,” the OP said.

Netizens say it’s happening more often

The TikTok video has since attracted the attention of netizens, with many sharing similar experiences.

A netizen was shocked that they were not the only one experiencing the same thing.

A commenter also shared that the same thing happened to them during their renovation, with their neighbours even mistaking them for the contractor.

A TikTok user said that their neighbour’s parents also came over during their renovation, but that they “asked for permission first”.

Another netizen also said that “this is actually very common” and that their BTO estate also “got a few people” posting about this issue in the Telegram chat.
