2 New Coronavirus Cases In Singapore As Of 10 Feb, Includes Man Working At Chingay & 2-Year-Old Wuhan Evacuee

The Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed today (10 Feb) that there are 2 new coronavirus cases in Singapore.

Both of them are Singaporean, and this brings the total number of cases locally to 45.

37-year-old Singaporean was on duty at Chingay

Case 44 is a 37-year-old man working at Certis Cisco and living in Sembawang Drive. He reported to work at Certis Cisco Centre, located at 20 Jalan Afifi.

He had previously visited 2 individuals from Wuhan to serve Quarantine Orders, and both of them tested positive for the virus.

He was also on duty at Chingay, held between 31 Jan and 1 Feb, and reported developing symptoms on the same day.

It is not known if he continued working on 1 Feb, but he visited a clinic on 2 Feb and Khoo Teck Puat Hospital on 6 Feb, where he was isolated.

On 9 Feb, he was found to be carrying the coronavirus.

Case 45 is a 2-year-old Singaporean Wuhan evacuee.

She arrived in Singapore on Thursday (30 Jan) and did not have any symptoms when boarding the flight home.

Test results on 10 Feb showed she was carrying the coronavirus.

Total of 7 coronavirus cases discharged from hospital, 7 others still critical

MOH announced that 1 more patient previously infected with the coronavirus has been discharged.

This makes a total of 7 out of 45 current cases, meaning there are still 38 confirmed cases known by MOH and under care.

However, in more sobering news, 7 of these cases are in critical condition in the intensive care unit. We hope they pull through and overcome the virus.

Keep washing your hands, DORSCON hasn’t turned red yet

The authorities have not raised the DORSCON level following the 10 Feb announcement.

However, we should still maintain good hygiene practices and wash our hands regularly.

Although there are reports saying the coronavirus can be spread aerially, no evidence suggests that this is the case in Singapore.
