NTUC FairPrice announced the temporary closure of a Unity Pharmacy outlet at NEX today (1 Apr), as one of their staff tested positive for Covid-19.
The part-timer was diagnosed with Covid-19 today (1 Apr). They last worked at the store on 30 Mar.
NEX Unity Pharmacy will be closed for cleaning and disinfecting temporarily, and will reopen only on 3 Apr.
The part-time staff worked as a retail assistant at the store.
They last worked on 30 Mar, and visited the doctor on 31 Mar as they developed a fever.
The staff was diagnosed with Covid-19 on 1 Apr, and has not visited the pharmacy’s premises since 30 Mar.
All other staff who work at the same outlet have been put on leave of absence.
FairPrice wishes to assure the public that contact tracing is underway and that they are taking the necessary measures to address the situation.
Safety precautions like safe distancing and frequent disinfection of surfaces every 4 hours are adhered to in their stores as well.
The pharmacy will undergo 2 days of disinfection and cleaning, in line with the National Environmental Agency’s guidelines.
In the meantime, customers can visit the nearest outlet located at Blk 266 Serangoon Central Drive #01-253 S(550266) for their pharmaceutical needs.
