On 23 Aug, a Facebook page shared clips of a foreign man fleeing from a group of locals after he allegedly dined and dashed over a 50,000 baht (S$1,900) bill at a Pattaya bar.
The clip begins with a group of around six to seven people surrounding the man.

They grabbed onto his shirt as he struggled to free himself.
The man then managed to free himself from their grasp and immediately began running down the road as the others gave chase.

A motorcycle taxi then approached the cameraman, who got on the vehicle to give chase. By this point, the man appeared to have lost the initial group that was giving chase.
The cameraman spotted him still running along the sidewalk. Another motorcycle taxi can be seen talking to him as the foreign man seemingly asked for help from those around him.

Eventually, his running turns to walking as he tires out.
At this point, a voice can be heard telling people to get a hold of the man before he flees again. One motorcycle taxi driver can be seen confronting the man and stopping him from proceeding before the clip cuts.
The video then shows the foreign man lying on the beach shirtless while surrounded by his captors.
A policeman can be seen next to him and asking people to not take photos.

According to The Thaiger, a foreign man standing near him can be heard saying that the shirtless man owed 50,000 baht (S$1,900) to a bar.
The clip prompted speculations online about how one man could possibly rack up such a massive tab on his own, with some suggesting he may have been overcharged.
Thus far, there have been no official reports published.
Earlier this week, authorities in Pattaya warned locals about overcharging foreigners as the USS Abraham Lincoln docked at port on 23 Aug.
