A full-time national serviceman (NSF) was found unconscious at the foot of a building at Basic Military Training School 3 on Pulau Tekong on Thursday (8 Oct).
He was taken to Pulau Tekong Medical Centre for emergency treatment before being evacuated by helicopter to Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
He was pronounced dead at 2.27pm.

The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) said in a news release published on 8 Oct that the serviceman was not involved in training at the time of the incident.
According to MINDEF, the NSF was found unconscious at about 1.22pm.
He was immediately conveyed to Pulau Tekong Medical Centre for emergency treatment.
He was subsequently evacuated by helicopter to SGH.
The serviceman arrived at SGH at about 2.05pm.
He was pronounced dead at 2.27pm.
MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) extended their “deepest condolences” to the deceased serviceman’s family.

“The SAF is assisting the family in their time of grief,” MINDEF said.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
