Off-Duty Firefighters Ignore Gruelling 24-Hour Shift To Quell Causeway Point Fire

8 SCDF personnel extinguish fire at Causeway Point food court

Having just finished a 24-hour shift at Bukit Batok Fire Station, 8 firefighters were looking forward to grabbing a quick bite and perhaps head home for some well-deserved rest.

A stall at Causeway Point had other ideas, however, and decided to spew copious amounts of smoke upon receiving news that SCDF’s finest was in the vicinity.

The weary firefighters — SSG Bakhit, SGT Md Noor, SGT Ma’arof, CPL Iqmal, CPL Aqil, LCP Irfan, LCP Fadhil Johar, and LCP Zuffri — put their skills to good use on Tuesday morning (26 Jan).

The band of eight presumably rubbed their eyes to make sure they weren’t seeing things before bursting into action.

Kitchen staff and members of the public were evacuated to safety, as our brave firemen employed a hose reel and fire extinguisher to quell the fire.

Thankfully, all damage was confined to a kitchen stove, and nobody was hurt during the process.

Thank you boys, for keeping Singapore safe from yet another fire menace. Now go and sleep for 24 hours — you deserve it.
