Netizens Unite To Find Missing Sheltie From Platinium Dogs Club Saga

Search Efforts Still Underway For Prince Who Escaped From Platinium Dogs Club

Elaine, a local fur parent who simply wishes to be reunited with her dog, has been seeking help to locate her Shetland Sheepdog named Prince since 30 Dec 2018.

The internet has had a heartwarming reaction to her plea, after a truly heart-wrenching video depicting her begging for help at Platinium Dogs Club went viral.

Here’s the post of her friend on 1 Jan in full. We summarise the efforts to locate her dog below.

A missing little prince

Elaine, the owner of Prince, reportedly flew back to Singapore earlier to locate her dog who was last spotted at a footpath along Hillview Avenue at 2am on 31 Dec.

He had escaped under the care of Platinium Dogs Club – a beleaguered pet house-boarding service – which has been accused of neglecting at least 4 dogs leading to their sickness or distress, and the alleged death of another.

Ms Teo shares that Prince could be located anywhere in these locations:

  • Bukit Panjang
  • Bukit Batok
  • Bukit Timah
  • Singapore Botanic Gardens
  • Novena
  • Boon Keng
  • Serangoon Road

Speaking from prior experience, she confirms that missing dogs have been known to cover the distance between “Ang Mo Kio to Pasir Ris in 2 days” and even “CCK to Suntec in 2-3 days” on their journeys home to their loved ones.

Possible road home?

Here’s a map of the possible path he could have taken over the past few days.

As Prince’s owners live near St. Michaels along Serangoon Road, they believe he may still be searching for a way home. The family also frequents Botanic Gardens’ cafe, so they haven’t ruled out the possibility that Prince would head there instead.

Long scar on the back

Ms Teo provided details on the dog’s appearance to help locals identify the canine on sight.

Name: Prince
Breed: Sheltie (Shetland Sheepdog)
Markings: Long scar on his back. Seen when fur is pushed to the sides.
Contact Owners: Elaine 97876521, Matt 97888321

However, they continue to worry that Prince may face trouble at traffic junctions as he isn’t well-equipped to deal with them.

Netizens go out of their way

We’re heartened that the post to locate Prince has been shared more than 3,000 times at the time of writing, with well-wishers hoping that the family may be reunited ASAP.

Netizens chipped in to say they’d look out for Prince in the vicinity of where they lived.

Others even enlisted the help of eagle-eyed taxi drivers.

While some sought justice for Elaine, to which Ms Teo confirmed the police were on the case.

Come home safely

With any luck, savvy netizens and Singaporeans will be able to find him taking refuge somewhere on our little red dot.

Most importantly, if you see a dog that resembles Prince, try calling him gently by his name as he will respond to it.

MS News hopes this little Prince will return to his family soon.
