Raffles Hotel Reopens On 1 Aug With Gorgeous Suites, Ballrooms & Restaurants

Raffles Hotel Returns After 18-Months Of Renovation

The iconic Raffles Hotel closed its doors in December 2017 to make room for major upgrades and renovations.

On Thursday (1 Aug), the hotel was back in action with a fresh look, new suites, luxurious restaurants, and high-class venues.

While Singapore’s architecture has changed over the years, Raffles Hotel is a constant reminder of our British past.

Here’s a look at how this neo-Renaissance building has transformed after several months.

Meticulous restoration

The Raffle Hotel’s meticulous restoration was led by interior designer Alexandra Champalimaud.

Christian Westbeld, General Manager, Raffles Singapore, said in a press release,

It is our wish and desire that our guests will continue to create treasured memories at the hotel.

The main building would certainly strike an awesome first impression. The walls are whiter than ever with fresh paint and sparkling marble floors.

You’ll definitely feel like royalty while walking up the grand staircase to reach your suite.

Ballrooms, boutiques & facilities

The hotel’s Jubilee Hall theatre has been replaced with a grand ballroom which can seat up to 300 guests.

Stunning chandeliers, customized wall panels, and long dining tables serve as a reminder of the city’s rich heritage.

We bet you’ve seen loads of swimming pools in your lifetime but not many can match the grandeur of this shimmering destination.

A charming boutique also sells vases, shirts, and other souvenirs so you can preserve and treasure every memory of your stay.

Refurbished fancy suites

Locals eager for a staycation will be happy to know that the suites have been refurbished too.

The Courtyard Suite provides easy access to the main building, Raffles Spa and Raffles Arcade. After a long day of sightseeing, tourists can relax on this king or queen-sized bed and enjoy world-class service from Raffles butlers.

The Residence Suite includes dining areas, pantry, intimate office space, living room, and powder room.

You’ll definitely feel like a king or a queen while enjoying a warm bath inside this tub after a long day at work.

Restaurants & bars

The refurbished interiors are certainly luxurious, and you can expect the same quality from their restaurants and bars.

Raffles has collaborated with Chef Anne-Sophie Pic – of the three-Michelin star Maison Pic in  France – to create the La Dame restaurant. We’re hoping it’ll rack up Michelin stars in the years to come.

Foodies can enjoy dishes like Cucumber with Oscietra Caviar and Gariguette Strawberry and Rosat Geranium.

Another option is a breakfast filled with vibrant berries, tangy bread, and colourful fruit juices at Tiffin Room.

True to its British roots, the hotel also serves afternoon tea and delicious treats at the Grand Lobby.

Stay the night at Raffles Hotel

There are loads of hotels around Singapore, but none can equal the grandeur and history of the Raffles Hotel.

The establishment opened in 1987 and derived its name from Singapore’s founder — Sir Stamford Raffles. You can book a suite on their website.
