This North Korean-American summit just keeps getting juicier.
On Friday, the police revealed that it had arrested two South Korean media personnel for criminal trespass.
Their destination?
The North Korean Ambassador’s house.
Channel NewsAsia reports that the Ambassador lives on Joo Chiat Lane.
Other outlets report that he lives at the former North Korean embassy, which was listed as 60 Joo Chiat Lane.
Besides the 2 men, the police is also investigating a South Korean man representing the Korean Broadcasting System News.
The Singapore Police Force adds,
Another 29-year-old South Korean man, who was the guide and interpreter for the group, is also under investigations.
Anyone convicted of criminal trespass under Section 447 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, may be punished with imprisonment of up to three months, or a fine of up to $1,500, or both.
It is believed that the arrests are the first made in relation to next week’s high-profile summit.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the North Korean Ambassador to Singapore is a certain Mr Kim Chol Nam.
The 57-year-old is married with one son and graduated from the Kim Il Song University in North Korea in 1985.
