Huge 3-Metre Gudetama Will Laze On Sentosa Beach From 16 Mar & You Can Visit Him For Free

Sentosa FunFest Lets You Laze Around With 800 Floats of Gudetama & Sanrio Characters

The islandwide Sanrio overload takes an interesting turn with Sentosa’s FunFest from 16 to 24 March.

Expect huge balloon structures of your favourite characters — My Melody, Hello Kitty and Gudetama.

Admission is free so you don’t need to break the bank to experience the cuteness.

We’ve reached out to Sentosa for more information about the event, so stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, we’ve scoured the net and found some pics that can help you visualise what you can look forward to.

Gudetama overload

Gudetama is our official lazy day inspiration because we all want to sit in an eggshell all-day long. Now, thanks to Sentosa’s 3-metre-high Gudetama float, you’ll have the most kawaii stroll along the beach.

Fingers crossed, it’ll be as cute as this version from Macau.

The event organisers confirmed that there will be 800 Gudetama floats dispersed across Palawan beach. We imagine they’ll look a little something like this adorable egg-shell cupped Gudetama in a gallery in Tokyo.

Hello Kitty & My Melody will be there too

We’ve seen Hello Kitty take Singapore by storm through Hello Kitty EZ-Link charms, Hello Kitty Baby-G watches and Hello Kitty Tokyo Bananas.

We’re sure that our Hello Kitty obsession is far from over, so you’ll be happy to find extra large inflatables of this iconic character.

My Melody has traditionally sent many locals queuing at 3:45 am. Those who missed the chance to own a My Melody holder, could still get their fix at various points in Palawan beach featuring Hello Kitty’s BFF.

Maybe someday you can get a My Melody inflatable like this one from Sanrio Puroland.

Run wild on inflatable land

Sentosa’s FunFest 2019 has larger-than-life inflated playgrounds too!

If your kids have what it takes to conquer this 25-metre-long obstacle course, they could be on the fast-track to becoming Singapore’s next Olympian.

Scoot on over to the Kids Maze section as well, that’s guaranteed to help your children and nieces forge new relationships with their peers. After all, getting lost with friends can be a great once-in-a-lifetime experience, as long as you find your way back.

They say challenges help build confidence and we bet that climbing this Traversing Wall can do just that.

It’s true that more bubbles will always be better, so we’re excited to have a bubble fight inside these foam pools.

Those who just want to lie down, laze around and enjoy Sanrio heaven can watch free movies like The Little Mermaid, Minions and Frozen under the twinkling stars. The lucky ones might be able to chope a place right beside a cushy Gudetama float too.

Happening at Palawan Beach from 16 to 24 March

Sentosa FunFest will take place at Palawan Beach from 16 to 24 March, just in time for the upcoming March school holidays.

We’re sure your kids will absolutely love watching Hello Kitty, My Melody & Gudetama come alive right next to them.

Do remember that you probably can’t take them home, or add the inflatables to your personal collection, but at least you’ll get to finally be up close and personal with your favourite Sanrio characters.

That’s the holiday plans for the kiddos settled! We’ll see you there.

Place: Sentosa Palawan Beach
Date: 16-24 Mar 2019
