The ubiquitous “six seven” meme has turned up in all sorts of unexpected places, but an English exam paper may be one of the strangest yet.
A netizen took to Reddit last Thursday (24 Sept) to share the question and challenge others to figure out how to answer it.
For those unfamiliar with the trend, “six seven” is a viral internet meme built around the seemingly meaningless phrase “six seven”.
According to Merriam-Webster, this “nonsensical expression” is mostly used by teens.
In the post on r/SMRTRabak on Reddit, the Original Poster (OP) shared a photo of a page from an English exam paper.
While the first two questions are fairly straightforward, the third question piqued the OP’s interest.
The question states: ” ‘Six Seven!’ Write about an experience involving this trend and why it is so memorable to you.”

Feeling rather puzzled, the OP turned to fellow netizens for help.
They included a popular SpongeBob SquarePants meme to convey their confusion, adding: “Do you have 250-350 words for 67?”
Similar to the OP, netizens were confused by the exam question, offering a couple of suggestions as ideal answers.
Some said that the question can prompt more creativity, despite the rather ridiculous nature of the trend.

One netizen took the OP’s challenge head-on, writing a 395-word essay entirely about “six seven”.

The response received the most upvotes, with other netizens joking that it deserved a score of 67 out of 100 (keeping with the trend).
But not everyone was ready to hand out praise.
One Reddit user questioned whether the essay had actually been written by the netizen, or if they had turned to AI for help.
