StarHub WiFi Takes ‘Circuit Breaker’ Too Literally, Interrupting HBL & Netflix Countrywide

StarHub WiFi Goes Down For Many Singaporeans On 15 Apr

If you were dreading a Zoom call with your boss today (15 Apr) and it miraculously never happened, you may just have StarHub to blame — or thank.

The local Internet service provider took to Facebook to inform their customers that their WiFi may have been affected due to technical difficulties.

Thankfully, StarHub are currently working on resolving the issue.

StarHub WiFi down due to networking equipment fault

According to StarHub, they experienced a “fault” with their equipment this morning.

They responded by encouraging customers to refresh their data and WiFi connection.

Unfortunately, the problem seemed to drag on into the afternoon.

Several customers informed StarHub that they were still facing difficulties with their WiFi on their Facebook page.

Eventually, StarHub updated the original post at 3.45pm, informing customers that they were aware of the continued difficulties, and were working to solve the problem promptly.

It’s possible that some will have no internet connection for an entire day.

No WiFi is a nightmare for WFH

The outage is one of the worst possible things that could happen during the ‘Circuit Breaker’.

We imagine those working from home are facing quite a bit of fear over not being able to do their work.

Some readers told MS News that they were also struggling to connect to their home WiFi, and this has impacted their families.

The outage caused issues with Home-Based Learning (HBL) too, including students and teachers alike.

The writer happily notes that she did not have to resort to her mobile data to write this article.

Hopefully this issue is quickly resolved, and we can kick back with an uninterrupted, fast-loading Netflix documentary tonight.
