3 foreign tourists allegedly urinate on beach in Thailand, sparks outrage

Three foreign tourists filmed urinating on Pattaya Beach

Three foreign tourists drew outrage after they were allegedly filmed urinating openly on a beach in Thailand.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday (25 Oct) at Central Pattaya Beach, which was crowded with visitors during Thailand’s long weekend due to the Chulalongkorn holiday.

Men continued the act despite being told to stop

According to Workpoint News 23, the 51-year-old eyewitness, Thanaphat (name transliterated from Thai), claimed he spotted the three foreign men relieving themselves on the sand in full view of other beachgoers.

He then recorded the incident on his phone.

Mr Thanaphat said people nearby approached the tourists and asked them to stop.

However, the men allegedly ignored the warnings before walking away from the area.

Eyewitness says behaviour hurts Pattaya’s image

Mr Thanaphat criticised the foreign tourists’ behaviour, stressing that Pattaya Beach is a public recreational area used by both local families and tourists.

He was concerned that such incidents could damage the resort city’s image and urged visitors to respect local rules and observe public cleanliness.

The footage subsequently circulated online, prompting calls for authorities to take action against similar behaviour.

Public urination can result in fine in Pattaya

Pattaya authorities have previously taken action against tourists for urinating in public.

In a separate case on 19 Oct, a Swedish tourist was fined after urinating near Bali Hai Pier.
