Police report lodged after woman spotted throwing scissors from 8th floor corridor in Bedok North

A police report has been lodged after a woman was spotted throwing a pair of metal scissors from the 8th floor of an HDB corridor in Bedok North.

She had allegedly taken the scissors from a resident’s flower pots along the corridor.

Video footage of the incident was captured by a resident’s security camera and uploaded onto the @sgfollowsall Instagram page.

Woman strolls around corridor before picking up pair of scissors

In the video, the woman can be seen strolling around the corridor in the early hours of the morning on 19 May.

At around 6.25am, the woman proceeds to walk towards a row of flower pots placed on the parapet.

She then grabs a pair of scissors placed inside one of the flower pots, before throwing them from the 8th floor.

Upon doing so, she turns around to leave and appears to walk towards the lift lobby.

Thankfully, no one appears to have been injured as a result of this act.

“Please think twice before throwing any object from a height. One reckless act can change lives”, the original poster (OP) of the video said.

Netizens react, mostly critically

In the comments section, netizens were livid and slammed the woman’s behaviour.

One Instagram user called on authorities to take action against the woman due to her dangerous actions.

Others also called on authorities to take decisive action quickly, in fear that the woman may commit similar acts in the future.

However, some netizens also questioned why a sharp and dangerous object was left in such an easily accessible position in the first place.

Others later pointed out that the item was less of an issue and that the majority of the blame still lies with the woman in the video.

Follows incident of woman throwing shoes in AMK

This is not the first instance of a woman throwing items down this month.

Recently, another instance of a woman throwing multiple pairs of her neighbour’s shoes down an Ang Mo Kio HDB block was posted onto social media.

In both cases, police reports were lodged.

However, it is not known if authorities will take further action against both individuals.
