AMK police present award on 8 Sept to resident who prevented man from falling off HDB block

On Tuesday (8 Sept), the Ang Mo Kio (AMK) Division of the police presented Mr Lim Wei Seng with an award at a commendation ceremony.

According to the AMK South Neighbourhood Police Centre, Mr Lim heard screaming and shouting while he was outside his flat on 23 Aug.

From the corridor, the resident saw a man with his leg over the HDB block’s ledge.

Man praised for decisive actions that saved a life

Mr Lim rushed over and pulled the man back to safety “without hesitation”.

The Police would like to commend Mr Lim for his vigilance and decisive actions in preventing the man from jumping from a high-rise building, thereby saving his life.

They also praised him for his public-spiritedness.

The Ang Mo Kio Division thus presented him with the SaferSG Partner Award (Individual).

Netizens on Facebook and Instagram praised Mr Lim for his determination and courage.
