Bugis Junction Is Now A Neon Pastel Beach With $5 Movies, Smoked Duck Donburi & Live Music Till 30 Jun

Bugis Junction X Bugis+ Aloha Beaches Bazaar Lets You Have A Beach Party In Town

Those who frequent Bugis Junction would be familiar with the iconic fountain there.

But head there this June holidays, and you’ll be treated to an even more spectacular sight — a beach party right in the heart of Bugis.

The neon beach paradise, complete with lighted pastel palm trees and actual sand, offers ribeye beef cubes & tropical butterfly pea mojitos in a food bazaar till 30 Jun.

You’ll also get to watch free screenings of popular Marvel & DC movies if you spend $5 on food. Here’s what else to expect in the month-long affair.

Pretty pastel trees & live music

Think of beaches, and a beautiful waterfront view might come to mind, complete with clear white sand and tropical trees.

The organisers have kept these in mind, seeking to recreate all the elements of a beach with their sand-filled Summer Lounge.

The lounge is all decked up with life-sized pastel trees, as well as tables and chairs for visitors to relax at.

We would strongly recommend that you come at night to see the pastel trees in their full glory — just take a look at the gorgeous fairy lights.

Visitors will also be treated to live music performances by homegrown musicians, happening every weekend during the event.

Smoked duck donburi & ribeye beef cubes

No event is complete without food. The beach party boasts a mouth-watering line-up of snacks, mains & drinks from The Swag Social, Rollet and Doughboys.

Keep your eyes peeled for Smoked Duck Donburi bowls and Yakiniku Ribeye Beef cubes by The Swag Social. The crazy loaded smoked hotdogs from The Doughboys look great too.

We would also recommend getting the Savory Cajun or Truffle Oil Crispy Fries.

To wash it all down, get the summery-sounding Butterfly Pea Mojitos. You can choose the percentage of alcohol you’d like in your drinks, just like choosing the sweetness level of your bubble tea.

Crazy cheap movie screenings

Be sure to check out Cinema by the Beach, an open-air concept cinema with an exciting slate of movies lined up for shoppers. We’re talking, Avengers: Infinity War, Beauty and the Beast, Ant-Man & Suicide Squad.

As the theme goes, even the cinema isn’t spared from exuding beach-like vibes with its deck chairs atop a sand-filled area.

Here is a full schedule of the movies to be screened:

To get a movie pass, spend a minimum of $5 in a single receipt at any food or retail shops at the bazaar, and you’re in.

Alternatively, those with the CapitaStar app can redeem a movie pass with every 2,000 STAR$.
