City Square Mall has free bag charm plushies & mooncakes, plus Japanese family experiences for shoppers

City Square Mall has shopping rewards, Mid-Autumn treats, and anime activities

Malls are already easy places for families to spend a few hours together, with everything from retail and dining to entertainment and kids’ activities all under one roof.

This September and October, City Square Mall (CSM) is adding even more to the mix, with bonus shopping rewards, festive treats, anime-themed activities, and hands-on Japanese experiences happening across the coming weeks.

There are also freebies up for grabs, including an adorable bag charm plushie and a mooncake set that’s perfect for gifting, or keeping for yourself.

Those planning a bigger shopping spree can bring home something cute and rewarding, too.

Spend S$120 in up to three combined receipts to redeem an Eco Mama bag charm plushie that opens up into a reusable bag, together with a S$5 CDL e-voucher. There are 2,000 sets available, while stocks last.

The qualifying spend goes up to S$170 if your receipts include purchases from selected outlets such as Don Don Donki, FairPrice, Lifescan Imaging, Little Haven Family Clinic, Minmed Clinic, Q&M Medical & Dental, and/or schools.

In other words, take this as your sign to bundle that grocery restock, clinic visit, and any other errands you’ve been putting off into one productive CSM trip.

And from now till 27 Sept, there’s another freebie to look out for: a two-piece mooncake set worth S$30 with S$50 spent at participating B2 Stores, Entertainment, Gifts & Hobbies outlets.

The qualifying spend is S$100 where applicable under the stated merchant conditions, with up to three combined receipts accepted. Only 100 sets are available, so it’s one to keep an eye on if you’ve still got Mid-Autumn Festival gifting to settle.

Mid-Autumn treats, cosplay fun, and more

There’s plenty happening beyond the shopping rewards, with pop-ups and family-friendly activities giving you even more reason to hang around after the errands are done.

From now till 27 Sept, the Mid-Autumn Fair takes over the CSM Level 1 Atrium with festive treats and mooncakes from names including Fullerton Hotel, Orchard Hotel, and Gin Thye, making it easy to browse a few options in one go or pick up a box for yourself.

Then from 28 Sept to 4 Oct, Anime Earth by Singapore Cosplay Club brings a different kind of energy to the same space, with cosplay showcases, artist booths, unique merchandise, and other Japanese pop culture experiences to check out.

Try Japanese festival games and dress up in yukata

Families visiting from 2 to 4 Oct can make the outing even more hands-on, too. Spending S$20 in a single receipt at CSM lets you try a Supa Boru Sukui (Super Ball Scooping) experience, a traditional Japanese game where the aim is to scoop up as many colourful bouncy balls as possible with a paper scoop before it tears.

You can also play dress-up and make some cute family memories with a Yukata Experience for up to four people, no flight to Japan required. Redemptions are limited to the first 500 daily and will take place at Anime Earth in the Atrium.

And if you’re back at CSM on 10 Oct, you can slow things down a little at the “You Matter” Mental Health Booth at L4 Gastro Square, where visitors can pause, recharge, and pick up simple self-care tips in conjunction with World Mental Health Day.

With everything from shopping rewards and festive pop-ups to hands-on family activities in the mix, it’s easy to turn a regular mall run into a full day out. Here’s how to get there:

City Square Mall (CSM)
Address: 180 Kitchener Road, Singapore 208539
Opening hours: 10am to 10pm daily (individual store hours may vary)
