With the national tally standing at 12,693, we now have the highest total confirmed cases in Southeast Asia.

Here’s an overview of tonight’s figures:

  • 597 are Work Permit holders living in dormitories
  • 12 are Work Permit holders living outside dormitories
  • 9 are community cases, including 7 whom are Singaporeans/Permanent Residents (PRs).

Of today’s new cases, 81% – or about 500 – are linked to known clusters. The remaining are still pending contact tracing.

Average weekly number of community cases decreased

The Ministry of Health (MOH) noted that the number of new cases in the community has decreased.

From an average of 31 cases per day in the week before, it has been an average of 23 per day in the past week.

The number of unlinked cases in the community has also come down, from a daily average of 21 cases in the week before, to 15 in the past week.

7 new clusters, including Northpoint City

Of further concern are 7 new clusters found today, one of which is Northpoint City shopping mall in Yishun.

Second in the list is Sungei Tengah Lodge. Meanwhile, around 25 dormitories have been gazetted as isolation areas.

46 patients recovered, total recoveries now 1,002

In slightly more positive news, 46 more patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital. This brings the total recoveries to 1,002.

Sadly, 24 are still in critical condition and are being cared for at the intensive care unit.
