344 New Covid-19 Cases On 6 Jun, With 25th Death Reported

344 New Cases Of Covid-19 On 6 Jun, Bringing S’pore’s Total To 37,527

As of 12pm on Saturday (6 Jun), the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 344 new cases of Covid-19.

This means that Singapore now has 37,527 cases in total.

The figure includes 7 community cases, of which 3 are Singaporeans/Permanent Residents (PRs) and 4 are Work Permit holders.

Meanwhile, the remaining 337 cases consist of migrant workers who live in dormitories.

Of the days cases, 98% had links to known clusters, and the rest are pending contact tracing.

2 new clusters identified, 1 officially closed

MOH also identified 2 new clusters. They are in dormitories at:

  • Beyond Tuas South Boulevard
  • 10 Kwong Min Road

Meanwhile, the cluster at the construction site at 15 Serangoon North Avenue 1 has closed, since no cases were linked to it for 28 days.

 

25th death reported in Singapore

Unfortunately a 41-year-old male Chinese national has passed away on Thursday (4 Jun).

He tested positive for the infection on 22 Apr, but had recovered and was discharged on 17 May. However, he collapsed on Thursday (4 Jun) due to massive pulmonary thromboembolism following SARS-CoV-2 infection.

As of now, he is the youngest fatality in Singapore, bringing the death toll to 25.

Public healthcare worker among infected cases

Also, a 27-year-old Singaporean physiotherapist at Tampines Polyclinic tested positive for the coronavirus, but had not gone to work since the onset of symptoms.

The man is currently warded at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), after confirmation of his infection on 5 Jun.

350 patients discharged, 308 still hospitalised

Meanwhile, 350 more patients were discharged today, bringing the total number of recoveries to 24,559.

308 cases still reside in hospitals, with 4 in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU). Community care facilities also have 12,635 cases under isolation.
