32-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead At The Scene In CTE Car Crash

Expressways are often accident-prone, as most vehicles will be travelling at a higher speed than usual. A simple oversight or mistake, could lead to motorists losing their lives.

Tragedy struck on Saturday (6 Jun) morning, when a car veered off Central Expressway (CTE) and crashed at around 9.20am.

A 32-year-old male driver was confirmed to have passed away when authorities retrieved his body.

CTE car crash occurred near Jalan Bahagia exit

According to Channel NewsAsia (CNA), police received information that the accident took place near Jalan Bahagia exit towards Seletar Expressway (SLE).

Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) personnel were deployed to the scene.

They found the victim lying motionless in a nearby drain upon their arrival.

Police told CNA that they had to use a ladder to reach the part of the drain where the victim’s body was located.

 

Car had skidded before landing in drain

The Straits Times reported that that the car had skidded, and ended up going over a fence before landing in the drain.

Unfortunately, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigations are ongoing.
