The first half of October will not be as rainy as the last two weeks, with “fair and warm” conditions expected on several days instead.
This was predicted by the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) in a weather advisory released on Thursday (1 Oct).

According to MSS, the first fortnight of this month will likely be drier than the second fortnight of September.
The fair and warm conditions will be particularly evident during the first week of October, it said.
However, thundery showers are still forecast on some days. They will fall in the late morning and afternoon over parts of the island.
Thus, the total rainfall for the first half of the month is forecast to be below average over most parts of the island.
Southwest Monsoon conditions, which set in over the surrounding region in early June, are prevailing over Singapore.
This means that winds over Singapore will blow mainly from the southeast or southwest.
MSS had previously said that the Southwest Monsoon was set to continue till September, though it is now October.
As for the temperature, most days will record a daily maximum of between 34°C and 35°C.
On a few days, it could “slightly exceed” 35°C.
Additionally, warm and humid nocturnal conditions are expected on some nights.
This means minimum temperatures could stay above 27°C.

Over the second fortnight of September, localised, short-duration thundery showers fell over parts of the island on several days.
On a few days, widespread thundery showers of moderate to heavy strength affected Singapore.
This resulted in almost all parts of Singapore recording above-average rainfall during the period.
The area around Jurong West recorded rainfall of 9% below average — the only area to record below-average rainfall.
In contrast, the area around Kranji registered 212% above average rainfall.

On 22 Sept, heavy thundery showers fell over many areas of Singapore in the afternoon, caused by regional wind convergence.
That day, 130.6mm of rainfall was registered near Rifle Range Road — the highest daily total rainfall for the fortnight.
Despite the rainfall, the second fortnight of September was “warm”, with the daily maximum temperature exceeding 34°C on most days, MSS said.
The highest daily maximum temperature of 35.8°C was recorded in Woodlands on 26 Sept — tying the record for September that was also recorded at Sembawang Road on 30 Sept 2016.
On several nights, minimum temperatures remained above 27°C over many areas of the island.
