Honda car drives against flow of traffic in Jurong West, taxis and buses forced to give way

On 2 Sept, a Honda driver was spotted driving against the flow of traffic along the road in Jurong West at around 10.50am.

Multiple vehicle dashcams captured footage of the car driving against traffic, forcing oncoming drivers to give way.

Forces bus to give way at traffic light

In a video posted on SG Road Vigilante, a camcar is seen heading towards a traffic light.

Upon approaching the right-only lane, the dashcam vehicle encountered stationary traffic ahead, despite a green traffic signal.

Upon closer inspection, a plum-coloured Honda Vezel is seen blocking the bus. It forces itself past the bus even though it is driving against the flow of traffic.

The bus slowly gives way as the Honda proceeds, travelling in the wrong direction.

Blocks taxi and another bus

As the Honda approaches the traffic light, a blue ComfortDelGro taxi drives up and stops before the crossing, blocking the path of the Honda.

However, the Honda does not budge and continues to inch forward into the taxi.

In response, the taxi driver switches to the adjacent lane and gives way for the Honda to pass.

Later in the video, a separate clip shows another wide-angle view of the incident, with the Honda car driving up to a second bus.

Driving against the flow of traffic is an offence under the Road Traffic Act.

The offence carries a composition fine of up to S$250 and six demerit points.

Report lodged with police

In response to queries from MS News, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said that they received a report about the incident.

Police investigations are ongoing.
