Singaporean finds an Infinity Gauntlet in rubbish bin at Geylang, with Infinity Stones all intact

Avengers: Doomsday is about to hit theatres later this year, and excitement for the long-awaited Marvel sequel is building up in Singapore.

But what many locals may not realise is that a superhero origin story has just begun in Singapore.

In a TikTok video posted on 14 Aug, the Original Poster (OP), identified as Joey, stumbled upon an Iron Man Nano Gauntlet sitting beside the trash can.

The 27-year-old had no qualms about picking it up and trying it on.

She found the gauntlet in a box beside the rubbish bin

In an exclusive with MS News, Joey shared that she found the gauntlet somewhere along the streets of Geylang while walking towards the MRT station.

In the video, Joey’s friend filmed an excited Joey pointing towards the toy sitting in a box beside the rubbish bin.

Joey picked up the toy and said to the camera: “Guys, I just found an Iron Man gauntlet from a rubbish bin.”

In the video, she mentioned that the gauntlet would have cost “almost S$300” at Toys”R”Us.

Although it was sitting on the side of the road, Joey noted that it was in “perfect condition” as she inspected the gauntlet.

Dusty but still functional

Although the toy was dusty, Joey decides to put her hand into the gauntlet to test its “powers” for herself.

To her surprise, the gauntlet’s fingers were still working well.

She attempted to form a fist and giggled with delight, amazed by the good condition of the toy that had once been discarded.

Her friend tells her to “clean her hands” afterwards.

Joey then raised her hand to strike a pose. She happily exclaimed: “Infinity stone, bro! Wah wah, what a lucky day!”

Speaking to MS News, Joey shared that she decided to keep the toy. According to Joey, her friend was “especially shocked” when Joey decided to take the toy home.

As to whether she washed her hands, Joey stated that she “washed [her] hands thoroughly after picking it up”.

“I also sanitised the gauntlet because the exterior was quite dirty, and there were tapes around it as well,” she added.

Brings to a nearby coffee shop to showcase her new toy

Joey’s cinematic universe continues as she brought the toy to a nearby coffee shop to “show off” her prize.

In a separate video posted on her TikTok page, Joey is seen wearing the gauntlet, attempting to point the middle finger with the toy.

Her friend went on to say how everybody was “amazed” by her hand.

Although still revelling in the wonder of the gauntlet, Joey exclaimed the craziness of the situation, stating, “Rubbish pick up, leh!”

According to Joey, quite a few people were staring at her when she picked up the gauntlet and walked off. When she reached the MRT station, there were also people smiling at her and showing interest in her loot.

Speaking to MS News, she shared that her dad was also confused by her decision, asking: “Why did you collect rubbish?”

Netizens surprised by the legendary find

Joey’s surprising find has garnered attention online, with many voicing the same surprise.

Netizens agree with the sentiment that “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”.

Some challenged Joey to a “fight”, showing off their own Marvel gauntlets.

A few netizens warned Joey not to pick up random items back home, as it is currently the seventh month.
