Vietnamese fashion brand LSOUL opens at 313@Somerset, founder says S’poreans ‘don’t dress boringly at all’

Vietnam’s LSOUL and Thailand’s Gentlewoman now available at 313@Somerset

Fans of LSOUL and Gentlewoman used to have to travel to Vietnam and Thailand respectively to shop their collections in person, but that’s no longer the case.

Both Southeast Asian fashion labels have officially opened their first Singapore stores at 313@Somerset, putting everything from LSOUL’s statement-making dresses to Gentlewoman’s instantly recognisable totes within much easier reach.

And while they may now be neighbours on Orchard Road, the two brands bring very different personalities to the mall.

LSOUL opens its first Singapore flagship

If you, like Adéla purrs in her viral hit ‘Nicole Kidman’, pray every single night that your, erm, assets are sitting just right, Vietnamese fashion label LSOUL might just be the answer to your prayers.

Known for its figure-hugging silhouettes, daring cuts, and unapologetically sexy designs, the brand is all about celebrating the female form while letting your individuality shine through.

The overall vibe is glamorous and luxurious, with lace-up corset tops, body-skimming dresses, and rich textures galore, from silky fabrics and delicate lace to plush fur jackets, knee-high leather boots, statement heels, and handbags.

And who knows, wearing these foxy pieces might just make you “feel like Nicole”. Or Madison Beer, IU, or the girls of BLACKPINK and TWICE, who’ve all rocked LSOUL designs.

LSOUL founder praises Singaporeans’ practical yet stylish outfits

Seeing LSOUL make its way into the wardrobes of international stars is understandably a big deal for its founder and creative director, Nguyễn Trọng Lâm.

Speaking to MS News, he said his “first feeling was definitely pride” at seeing “designs by young Vietnamese creatives recognised in the wardrobes of top idols, as well as in the shopping carts of thousands of girls around the world”.

As for why Singapore was chosen for the brand’s next opening, Lâm described the country as “a gateway to the world” and one of LSOUL’s top strategic locations, citing its proximity and cultural similarities with Vietnam.

The team had also spent around a year studying the local market before making its debut here, and Lâm had some rather complimentary things to say about Singaporeans’ fashion sense.

“I don’t think Singaporeans dress boringly at all. I have many friends here, and I think Singaporeans have a very international sense of fashion, as well as their own unique style,” he said.

“We’ve noticed that Singaporeans dress in a very practical and versatile way, with comfort always being a priority,” he added. “But they also incorporate interesting and unique details into their outfits, which really show off their personal style.”

And while local shoppers could previously buy LSOUL online, the new physical store means they can finally get a proper feel for how its designs look and fit.

“LSOUL’s clothes are designed to fit and accentuate the body’s curves. When you try them on, you’ll really be able to appreciate how our silhouettes are designed to complement your figure,” Lâm explained.

Beyond helping women find their perfect fit, Lâm hopes LSOUL will also encourage them to embrace their bodies and express themselves confidently through fashion.

The LSOUL flagship is located at unit #03-16/17 and opens daily from 10am to 10pm.

Gentlewoman brings cult-fave totes and everyday fashion to Singapore

LSOUL’s sultry silhouettes not quite your style? Its new neighbour Gentlewoman offers something a little more playful and casual.

You might remember a time when canvas tote bags stamped with the giant, hard-to-miss “GENTLEWOMAN” logo were practically everywhere.

Well, they may have put the Thai label on the map, but there’s actually a whole lot more to discover beyond its signature accessories.

Founded in Bangkok in 2018, Gentlewoman has since grown into one of Southeast Asia’s most recognisable contemporary fashion names. But here’s something you might not know: it actually started out with a focus on workwear.

Its range has since expanded to include casualwear, activewear, swimwear, and accessories, with plenty of cute, quirky pieces to add some personality to your wardrobe.

Of course, you’ll still find the signature totes here, alongside plenty of other bag designs in different colours, shapes, and materials, so there’s no shortage of options if you’re looking for a new everyday carry.

If minimalism isn’t quite your thing, you’ll definitely have a field day here. The clothes are big on colour, playful patterns, and interesting textures, with everything from oversized bows on tops to whimsical designs inspired by My Little Pony.

Basically, it’s all very girly and fun without being too over-the-top for everyday wear, though you’ll also find more polished pieces if you prefer something a little understated.

And for those with a tiny fashionista at home, Gentle Littlewoman offers cute dresses and playful, girly pieces in kids’ sizes so you and your mini-me can be style twins.

The Gentlewoman Singapore store is located at unit #03-18/21 and opens daily from 10am to 10pm.
