A female passenger has recounted an alleged incident of a male passenger touching himself inappropriately on board SBS Transit bus service 174 while seated near her.
The incident was shared by @thesgdaily on Instagram on Sunday (6 Sept), accompanied by a video purportedly showing the male passenger seated near the back of the bus.
According to the female passenger, she was travelling home from work on bus service 174 at around 12.15pm.
Upon boarding the bus, she said that she chose to sit “at the very back”.
“While I was there, a male passenger sitting near me engaged in inappropriate behaviour,” the female passenger said.
The accompanying footage showed a male passenger seated opposite the person filming the video.
The male passenger was seated sideways and appeared to be looking at his handphone. He then proceeded to grab his crotch and tug at it several times.
After a short while, he stopped and continued looking at his phone before adjusting his pants around his crotch area.
The post has since caught the attention of netizens online, with some shocked by the male passenger’s actions.
A shocked netizen commented: “What in the world?”

A commenter also felt that the male passenger seemed young and may not be “socially aware” that he was doing something inappropriate.

Several netizens were appalled at the act and suggested it would have been best for the passenger to approach the driver or report the man to the police.
This was refuted by one Instagram user who felt that the perpetrator should be given a chance as he is “still young”.
