Yesterday (6 Oct), the police stated that they are investigating a teen who flung a bag off an LRT station platform in Punggol.
The group he was part of also committed fare evasion.
The incident occurred at around 11pm on 27 Sept, and went viral on social media two days later.

An Instagram video showed the teen grabbing a bag filled with boxes at the platform of Cove LRT station.
He then tossed it over the LRT tracks and seemingly out of the station entirely.

The police said that they established the identity of the teen using ground enquiries and CCTV cameras.
The 17-year-old male is currently assisting with police investigations.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the bag contained two blocks of ice cream.

For the offence of a rash act, the teen may be jailed for up to six months and/or fined a maximum of S$2,500.
SBS Transit spokesperson Grace Wu previously told MS News on 1 Oct that they had lodged a police report about the public safety incident.
Mrs Wu stated that the boy was part of a group of five, according to CCTV footage.

Four of them did not tap in at the fare gates when they entered Cove LRT station.
As such, SBS Transit is also looking into the matter of a fare evasion offence.
