Parkgoer films two roosters performing ‘traditional dance ritual’ in S’pore

Parkgoer spots two roosters in ‘traditional dance ritual’ in Singapore, films birds fighting

Recently, a passer-by spotted two roosters going at it in a park in Singapore in a “traditional” dance-like ritual.

Although the Original Poster (OP) did not share which rooster won the fight, the exciting sight surprised them and gave netizens a show unlike any other.

A ‘traditional dance ritual’ with chasing, bowing and kicking

In a post on Singapore Wildlife Sightings last Thursday (15 Oct), the OP shared a compilation of photos and videos of the showdown between the two roosters.

In one of the clips, the two roosters, one brown and one white, bowed to each other before beginning the fight.

Then, they engaged in a cock fight where they chased, faced off, and kicked each other.

The brawl was a furious, evenly matched clash as both fighters scrambled for the upper hand.

The OP wrote: “It appeared to be like a traditional dance ritual”.

The real winner is OP

Finally, after a long brawl, the two roosters ran off together into the distance, seemingly done with their “ritual”.

While the fight seemed to have ended in a draw, the OP claimed that they were the real winner.

“I won,” the OP wrote. “Because I am the only witness to this [surprising] moment. Cheers.”

Netizens debate on real winner

Netizens found themselves thoroughly amused by the OP’s post, determining the real winner of the fight.

In the comments section, most believed that the white chicken won.

Some shared that cock fighting has its history in old kampungs in Singapore.

One netizen even cheekily asked whether the OP placed a bet on the fight.
